Storage Denial of Wallet amplification attack

Data transfer costs for cloud storage are based on the volume of data extracted from storage to a cache, which might not match the volume of data that reached its final destination. When an organization hosts large files in cloud storage, an attacker could make many requests for small parts of a file (e.g., via HTTP Range requests), resulting in surprisingly high incurred costs for the victim.
